Decorex is a super glossy high end interiors trade fair, full of amazing furniture, lighting, wallpaper, fabric, staircases, sound systems, flooring, billiard tables, tiles, baths… you name it – it’s pretty much all there. Design-Nation (my “day job”) has the honour of being one of Decorex’s supported organisations so for the last six years I’ve had the fun if slightly stressful job of putting together a stand full of gorgeous contemporary design by our members.

I’ve worked with the Decorex team, their technical suppliers and the Design-Nation members on creative themes each year, as well as stand layout, colours, press coverage, lighting, brochures and online content. In 2019 we had a bigger stand and showed work by eight designer/makers: ceramics by Melody Rose and Katherine Staples, copper lighting and sculpture by Emma-Jane Rule, weaving by Maria Sigma, furniture by Hugh Miller, hand blown lighting by Laura Elizabeth Glass and a collaborative chair project by Jonathan Rose and Angie Parker. Each was featured on our Design-Nation blog and we got great press coverage too.

Coverage of earlier years can also be found on the Design-Nation websites: Illuminations in 2018, Working Together in 2017, The Roots of Design in 2016 and Contemporary Future Heritage in 2015.
